不识庐山真面目,

只缘身在此山中。

                            —— 苏轼 《题西林壁》

Why can’t I tell the true shape of Lu-shan?

Because I myself am in the mountain.

—— Su Shi,  Written on the Wall at West Forest Temple

This is one my favorite Chinese poems. As Su Shi said, you cannot truly understand anything if you are in it. I am a Chinese journalist, writer and visual artist based in Chicago. Living in the U.S. is one of my approach getting to know more about China. Besides that, I also accumulate many similarities between Eastern and Western culture. I am not talking about the entire civilization, just some of the similarities from the humanities in our daily lives. I call them "the happy coincidence".

Thanks life for bringing you here.
